How To Make Your Favorite Meals Healthier

I really like the MyFitnessPal App because it lets you to save meals. I eat a lot of the same foods and meals, so I just save them and give them a title. The next time I eat the meal, I simply go into “Meals” and choose what I am eating. If I eat a chicken thigh, baked potato, broccoli and hummus, I can save all of those as one meal.

 

The app also allows you to your own create recipes. I create recipes of items that I eat often and that have a lot of different ingredients. Some of the recipes I have saved are: Banana Bread,  Chicken Casserole and Clam Chowder.

 

I'm sure you have noticed that some of these are not "healthy." First, you can eat whatever you want, as long as you don't overeat. Second, I have found that you can take your favorite dish and make it a little less unhealthy with some very simple substitutions. Here is a list that I found of 67 Healthy Recipe Substitutions.


My favorite food is fried buffalo chicken. So, I found a recipe for baked chicken thighs that made the skin very crispy JUST LIKE FRIED CHICKEN! They are extremely delicious.

 

For the next several months, I basically ate chicken thighs with different seasonings. Just so my posts won't be repetitive, I will enter “Chicken Thigh” for my meal, with whatever sides I had with it that day.
